[bbe] And you will be certain that I am the Lord: for you have not been guided by my rulessor given effect to my orders, but you have been living by the orderssof the nationssround about you.11:13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD will you put an end to all the rest of Israel?11:14 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, [bbe] And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,11:15 Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitantssof Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto ussissthissland given in possession. [bbe] Son of man, your countrymen, your relations, and all the children of Israel, all of them, are those to whom the people of Jerusalem have said, Go far from the Lordthissland issgiven to ussfor a heritage:11:16 Therefore say, Thusssaith the Lord GODAlthough I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them assa little sanctuary in the countriesswhere they shall come. [bbe] For thissreason say, Thississwhat the Lord hasssaid: Though I have had them moved far off among the nations, and though I have sent them wandering among the countries, still I have been a safe place for them for a little time in the countriesswhere they have come.11:17Therefore say, Thusssaith the Lord GODI will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countriesswhere ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. [bbe] Then say, Thississwhat the Lord hasssaid: I will get you together from the peoples, and make you come out of the countriesswhere you have been sent in flight, and I will give you the land of Israel.11:18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable thingssthereof and all the abominationssthereof from thence. [bbe] And they will come there, and take away all the hated and disgusting thingssfrom it.11:19And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within youand I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: [bbe] And I will give them a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in themand I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh:11:20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. [bbe] Then the wingssof the winged onesswere lifted up, and the wheelsswere by their sideand the glory of the God of Israel wassover them on high.11:23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which isson the east side of the city. My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.Do not all be teachers, my brothers, because we teachersswill be judged more hardly than others. 3:2 For in many thingsswe offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same issa perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.For we all go wrong in a number of things. If a man never makessa slip in hisstalk, then he issa complete man and able to keep all hissbody in control. 3:3Behold, we put bitssin the horses’ mouths, that they may obey usand we turn about their whole body.Now if we put bitssof iron into horses’ mouthssso that they may be guided by us, we have complete control of their bodies. 3:4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.And again ships, though they are so great and are moved by violent winds, are turned by a very small guiding-blade, at the impulse of the man who issusing it. 3:5 Even so the tongue issa little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth 3:6 And the tongue issa fire, a world of iniquity: so issthe tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of natureand it issset on fire of hell.And the tongue issa fireit issthe power of evil placed in our bodies, making all the body unclean, putting the wheel of life on fire, and getting itssfire from hell. 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of thingssin the sea, isstamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:For every sort of beast and bird and every living thing on earth and in the sea hassbeen controlled by man and issunder hissauthority3:8 But the tongue can no man tameit issan unruly evil, full of deadly poison.But the tongue may not be controlled by manit issan unresting evil, it issfull of the poison of death. 3:9 Therewith blessswe God, even the Fatherand therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.With it we give praise to our Lord and Fatherand with it we put a curse on men who are made in God’ssimage. 3:10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these thingssought not so to be.Out of the same mouth comessblessing and cursing. My brothers, it issnot right for these thingssto be so. 3:11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?Doessthe fountain send from the same outlet sweet and bitter water? 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.Issa fig-tree able to give ussolives, my brothers, or do we get figssfrom a vine, or sweet water from the salt sea? 3:13 Who issa wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation hissworksswith meeknesssof wisdom.Who hasswisdom and good sense among you? let him make hissworkssclear by a life of gentle wisdom. 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.But if you have bitter envy in your heart and the desire to get the better of others, have no pride in this, talking falsely against what isstrue. 3:15 Thisswisdom descendeth not from above, but issearthly, sensual, devilish.Thisswisdom issnot from heaven, but issof the earth and the flesh and the Evil One. 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there issconfusion and every evil work.For where envy is, and the desire to get the better of others, there issno order, but every sort of evil-doing. 3:17 But the wisdom that issfrom above issfirst pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.But the wisdom which issfrom heaven issfirst holy, then gentle, readily giving way in argument, full of peace and mercy and good works, not doubting, not seeming other than it is. 3:18 And the fruit of righteousnesssisssown in peace of them that make peace.And the fruit of righteousnesssissplanted in peace for those who make peace.
