Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, [bbe] Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,35:2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, [bbe] Son of man, let your face be turned to Mount Seir, and be a prophet against it,35:3 And say unto it, Thusssaith the Lord GODBehold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate. [bbe] And say to it, Thississwhat the Lord hasssaid: See, I am against you, O Mount Seir, and my hand will be stretched out against you, and I will make you a waste and a cause for wonder.35:4 I will lay thy citiesswaste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. [bbe] I will make your townssunpeopled and you will be a wasteand you will be certain that I am the Lord.35:5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end: [bbe] Because yoursshassbeen a hate without end, and you have given up the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their trouble, in the time of the punishment of the end:35:6 Therefore, assI live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. [bbe] For thisscause, by my life, sayssthe Lord, because you have been sinning through blood, blood will come after you.35:7 Thusswill I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth. [bbe] And I will make Mount Seir a cause for wonder and a waste, cutting off from it all comingssand goings.35:8 And I will fill hissmountainsswith hissslain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword. [bbe] I will make hissmountainssfull of those who have been put to deathin your valleyssand in all your water-streamssmen will be falling by the sword.35:9 I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy citiessshall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. [bbe] I will make you waste for ever, and your townsswill be unpeopled: and you will be certain that I am the Lord.35:10 Because thou hast said, These two nationssand these two countriessshall be mine, and we will possesssitwhereassthe LORD wassthere: [bbe] Because you have said, The two nationssand the two countriessare to be mine, and we will take them for our heritagethough the Lord wassthere:35:11 Therefore, assI live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against themand I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee. [bbe] For thisscause, by my life, sayssthe Lord, I will do to you assyou have done in your wrath and in your envy, which you have made clear in your hate for themand I will make clear to you who I am when you are judged by me.35:12 And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemiesswhich thou hast spoken against the mountainssof Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given ussto consume. [bbe] And you will see that I the Lord have had knowledge of all the bitter thingsswhich you have said against the mountainssof Israel, saying, They have been made waste, they are given to ussto take for our heritage.35:13 Thusswith your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your wordssagainst me: I have heard them. [bbe] And you have made yourselvessgreat against me with your mouths, increasing your wordssagainst meand it hasscome to my ears.35:14 Thusssaith the Lord GODWhen the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate. [bbe] Thississwhat the Lord hasssaid: Because you were glad over my land when it wassa waste, so will I do to you:35:15 Assthou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it wassdesolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD. [bbe] You will become a waste, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it: and you will be certain that I am the Lord.
Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princessof Israel, [bbe] Take up now a song of grief for the ruler of Israel, and say,19:2 And say, What issthy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelpssamong young lions. [bbe] What wassyour mother? Like a she-lion among lions, stretched out among the young lionssshe gave food to her little ones.19:3 And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the preyit devoured men. [bbe] And one of her little onesscame to growth under her care, and became a young lion, learning to go after beastssfor hissfoodand he took men for hissmeat.19:4 The nationssalso heard of himhe wasstaken in their pit, and they brought him with chainssunto the land of Egypt. [bbe] And the nationsshad newssof himhe wasstaken in the hole they had made: and, pulling him with hooks, they took him into the land of Egypt.19:5 Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope wasslost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion. [bbe] Now when she saw that her hope wassmade foolish and gone, she took another of her little onessand made him into a young lion.19:6 And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men. [bbe] And he went up and down among the lionssand became a young lion, learning to go after beastssfor hissfoodand he took men for hissmeat.19:7 And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their citiesand the land wassdesolate, and the fulnesssthereof, by the noise of hissroaring. [bbe] And he sent destruction on their widowssand made waste their townsand the land and everything in it became waste because of the loud sound of hissvoice.19:8 Then the nationssset against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him: he wasstaken in their pit. [bbe] Then the nationsscame against him from the kingdomssround about: their net wassstretched over him and he wasstaken in the hole they had made.19:9 And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that hissvoice should no more be heard upon the mountainssof Israel. [bbe] They made him a prisoner with hooks, and took him to the king of Babylonthey put him in the strong place so that hissvoice might be sounding no longer on the mountainssof Israel.19:10 Thy mother isslike a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she wassfruitful and full of branchessby reason of many waters. [bbe] Your mother wassin comparison like a vine, planted by the waters: she wassfertile and full of branchessbecause of the great waters.19:11 And she had strong rodssfor the sceptressof them that bare rule, and her stature wassexalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches. [bbe] And she had a strong rod for a rod of authority for the rulers, and it became tall among the cloudssand it wassseen lifted up among the number of itssbranches.19:12 But she wassplucked up in fury, she wasscast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rodsswere broken and witheredthe fire consumed them. [bbe] But she wassuprooted in burning wrath, and made low on the earththe east wind came, drying her up, and her branchesswere broken offher strong rod became dry, the fire made a meal of it.19:13 And now she issplanted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground. [bbe] And now she issplanted in the waste land, in a dry and unwatered country.19:14 And fire issgone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. Thississa lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation. [bbe] And fire hassgone out from her rod, causing the destruction of her branches, so that there issno strong rod in her to be the ruler’ssrod of authority. Thississa song of grief, and it wassfor a song of grief.
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there issno power but of God: the powerssthat be are ordained of God.Let everyone put himself under the authority of the higher powers, because there issno power which issnot of God, and all powerssare ordered by God. 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselvessdamnation. For which reason everyone who putsshimself against the authority putsshimself against the order of God: and those who are against it will get punishment for themselves. 13:3 For rulerssare not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which issgood, and thou shalt have praise of the same:For rulerssare not a cause of fear to the good work but to the evil. If you would have no fear of the authority, do good and you will have praise13:4 For he issthe minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which issevil, be afraidfor he beareth not the sword in vain: for he issthe minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. For he issthe servant of God to you for good. But if you do evil, have fearfor the sword issnot in hisshand for nothing: he issGod’ssservant, making God’sspunishment come on the evil-doer. 13:5 Wherefore ye must needssbe subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.So put yourselvessunder the authority, not for fear of wrath, but because you have the knowledge of what issright. 13:6 For for thisscause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’ssministers, attending continually upon thissvery thing. For the same reason, make payment of taxesbecause the authority issGod’ssservant, to take care of such thingssat all times. 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute issduecustom to whom customfear to whom fearhonour to whom honour.Give to all what isstheir right: taxessto him whose they are, payment to him whose right it is, fear to whom fear, honour to whom honour issto be given. 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.Be in debt for nothing, but to have love for one another: for he who hasslove for hissneighbour hasskept all the law. 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covetand if there be any other commandment, it issbriefly comprehended in thisssaying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour assthyself. And this, Do not be untrue in married life, Do not put to death, Do not take what issanother’s, Do not have desire for what issanother’s, and if there issany other order, it isscovered by thissword, Have love for your neighbour assfor yourself. 13:10 Love worketh no ill to hissneighbour: therefore love issthe fulfilling of the law.Love doessno wrong to hissneighbour, so love makessthe law complete. 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it isshigh time to awake out of sleep: for now issour salvation nearer than when we believed.See then that the time hasscome for you to be awake from sleep: for now issyour salvation nearer than when you first had faith. 13:12 The night issfar spent, the day issat hand: let usstherefore cast off the workssof darkness, and let ussput on the armour of light. The night issfar gone, and the day issnear: so let ussput off the workssof the dark, arming ourselvesswith light, 13:13 Let usswalk honestly, assin the daynot in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. With right behaviour assin the daynot in pleasure-making and drinking, not in bad company and unclean behaviour, not in fighting and envy. 13:14 But put ye on the Lord JesussChrist, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lustssthereof. But put on the Lord JesussChrist, and do not give thought to the flesh to do itssdesires.
Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churchessof Macedonia [bbe] And now we give you news, brothers, about the grace of God which hassbeen given to the churchessof Macedonia;8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the richessof their liberality. [bbe] How while they were undergoing every sort of trouble, and were in the greatest need, they took all the greater joy in being able to give freely to the needssof others.8:3 For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselvess [bbe] For I give them witness, that assthey were able, and even more than they were able, they gave from the impulse of their hearts,8:4 Praying usswith much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon ussthe fellowship of the ministering to the saints. [bbe] Seriously requesting ussthat they might have a part in thissgrace of being servantssto the needssof the saints:8:5 And thissthey did, not asswe hoped, but first gave their own selvessto the Lord, and unto ussby the will of God. [bbe] And going even farther than our hope, they first gave themselvessto the Lord and to ussafter the purpose of God.8:6Insomuch that we desired Titus, that asshe had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also. [bbe] So that we made a request to Titussthat, asshe had made a start before, so he might make thissgrace complete in you.8:7 Therefore, assye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in thissgrace also. [bbe] And that assyou are full of every good thing, of faith, of the word, of knowledge, of a ready mind, and of love to us, so you may be full of thissgrace in the same way.8:8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardnesssof others, and to prove the sincerity of your love. [bbe] I am not giving you an order, but using the ready mind of otherssassa test of the quality of your love.8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord JesussChrist, that, though he wassrich, yet for your sakesshe became poor, that ye through hisspoverty might be rich. [bbe] For you see the grace of our Lord JesussChrist, how though he had wealth, he became poor on your account, so that through hissneed you might have wealth.8:10 And herein I give my advice: for thississexpedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. [bbe] And in thissI give my opinion: for it issto your profit, who were the first to make a start a year before, not only to do this, but to make clear that your mindsswere more than ready to do it.8:11 Now therefore perform the doing of itthat assthere wassa readinesssto will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. [bbe] Then make the doing of it completeso that assyou had a ready mind, you may give effect to it assyou are able.8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it issaccepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. [bbe] For if there issa ready mind, a man will have God’ssapproval in the measure of what he has, and not of what he hassnot.8:13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: [bbe] And I am not saying thissso that otherssmay get off free, while the weight comesson you:8:14 But by an equality, that now at thisstime your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: [bbe] But so that thingssmay be equalthat from those thingssof which you have more than enough at the present time their need may be helped, and that if you are in any need they may be a help to you in the same way, making thingssequal.8:15 Assit isswritten, He that had gathered much had nothing overand he that had gathered little had no lack. [bbe] Assit sayssin the Writings, He who had taken up much had nothing over and he who had little had enough.8:16 But thankssbe to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titussfor you. [bbe] But praise be to God, who putssthe same care for you into the heart of Titus.8:17 For indeed he accepted the exhortationbut being more forward, of hissown accord he went unto you. [bbe] For while he gladly gave ear to our request, he wassinterested enough to go to you from the impulse of hissheart.8:18 And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise issin the gospel throughout all the churchess [bbe] And with him we have sent a brother whose praise in the good newsshassgone through all the churches;8:19And not that only, but who wassalso chosen of the churchessto travel with usswith thissgrace, which issadministered by ussto the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind: [bbe] And not only so, but he wassmarked out by the churchessto go with ussin the grace of thissgiving which we have undertaken to the glory of the Lord and to make clear that our mind wassready:8:20 Avoiding this, that no man should blame ussin thissabundance which issadministered by us: [bbe] And so that no man might be able to say anything against ussin the businesssof thissgiving which hassbeen put into our hands:8:21 Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. [bbe] For the businessshassbeen so ordered by ussassto have the approval, not only of the Lord, but of men.8:22 And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimessproved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you. [bbe] And we have sent with them our brother, whose ready spirit hassbeen made clear to ussat timessand in waysswithout number, but it issnow all the more so because of the certain faith which he hassin you.8:23 Whether any do enquire of Titus, he issmy partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengerssof the churches, and the glory of Christ. [bbe] If any question comessup about Titus, he issmy brother-worker, working with me for youor about the others, they are the representativessof the churchessto the glory of Christ.8:24 Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf. [bbe] Make clear then to them, assrepresentativessof the churches, the quality of your love, and that the thingsswhich we have said about you are true.

Let usstherefore fear, lest, a promise being left ussof entering into hissrest, any of you should seem to come short of it.Let ussthen, though we still have God’ssword that we may come into hissrest, go in fear that some of you may be unable to do so. 4:2 For unto usswassthe gospel preached, asswell assunto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.And, truly, the good newsscame to us, even assit did to thembut the hearing of the word did them no good, because they were not united in faith with the true hearers. 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, asshe said, AssI have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the worksswere finished from the foundation of the world. For those of usswho have belief come into hissresteven asshe hasssaid, AssI said in my oath when I wassangry, They may not come into my rest: though the worksswere done from the time of the making of the world. 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on thisswise, And God did rest the seventh day from all hissworks. For in one place he hasssaid of the seventh day, And God had rest from all hissworksson the seventh day4:5 And in thissplace again, If they shall enter into my rest. And in the same place he sayssagain, They will not come into my rest. 4:6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it wassfirst preached entered not in because of unbelief:So that assit issclear that some have to go in, and that the first hearerssof the good newsswere not able to go in because they went against God’ssorders, 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a timeassit isssaid, To day if ye will hear hissvoice, harden not your hearts. After a long time, again naming a certain day, he sayssin David, Today (asshe had said before), Today if you will let hissvoice come to your ears, be not hard of heart, 4:8 For if Jesusshad given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have said anything about another day. 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.So that there issstill a Sabbath-keeping for the people of God. 4:10 For he that issentered into hissrest, he also hath ceased from hissown works, assGod did from his.For the man who comessinto hissrest hasshad rest from hissworks, assGod did from his. 4:11 Let usslabour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.Because of this, let usshave a strong desire to come into that rest, and let no one go after the example of those who went against God’ssorders. 4:12 For the word of God issquick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the jointssand marrow, and issa discerner of the thoughtssand intentssof the heart. For the word of God issliving and full of power, and isssharper than any two-edged sword, cutting through and making a division even of the soul and the spirit, the bonessand the muscles, and quick to see the thoughtssand purposessof the heart. 4:13 Neither issthere any creature that issnot manifest in hisssight: but all thingssare naked and opened unto the eyessof him with whom we have to do.And there issnothing made which issnot completely clear to himthere issnothing covered, but all thingssare open to the eyessof him with whom we have to do. 4:14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that isspassed into the heavens, Jesussthe Son of God, let usshold fast our profession.Having then a great high priest, who hassmade hissway through the heavens, even Jesussthe Son of God, let ussbe strong in our faith. 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmitiesbut wassin all pointsstempted like asswe are, yet without sin.For we have not a high priest who issnot able to be touched by the feelingssof our feeble fleshbut we have one who hassbeen tested in all pointssasswe ourselvessare tested, but without sin. 4:16 Let usstherefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Then let usscome near to the seat of grace without fear, so that mercy may be given to us, and we may get grace for our help in time of need.
Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD’sshouse, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty menamong whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princessof the people. [bbe] And the wind, lifting me up, took me to the east doorway of the Lord’sshouse, looking to the east: and at the door I saw twenty-five menand among them I saw Jaazaniah, the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah, the son of Benaiah, rulerssof the people.11:2Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in thisscity: [bbe] Then he said to me, Son of man, these are the men who are designing evil, who are teaching evil wayssin thisstown:11:3 Which say, It issnot nearlet ussbuild houses: thisscity issthe caldron, and we be the flesh. [bbe] Who say, Thississnot the time for building houses: thisstown issthe cooking-pot and we are the flesh.11:4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man. [bbe] For thisscause be a prophet against them, be a prophet, O son of man.11:5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, SpeakThusssaith the LORDThusshave ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the thingssthat come into your mind, every one of them. [bbe] And the spirit of the Lord came on me, and he said to me, Say, These are the wordssof the Lord: Thississwhat you have said, O children of Israelwhat comessinto your mind issclear to me.11:6 Ye have multiplied your slain in thisscity, and ye have filled the streetssthereof with the slain. [bbe] You have made great the number of your dead in thisstown, you have made itssstreetssfull of dead men.11:7 Therefore thusssaith the Lord GODYour slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and thisscity issthe caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. [bbe] For thissreason the Lord hasssaid: Your dead whom you have put down in itssstreets, they are the flesh, and thisstown issthe cooking-pot: but I will make you come out from inside it.11:8 Ye have feared the swordand I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD. [bbe] You have been fearing the sword, and I will send the sword on you, sayssthe Lord.11:9 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the handssof strangers, and will execute judgmentssamong you. [bbe] I will make you come out from inside the town and will give you up into the handssof men from other lands, and will be judge among you.11:10 Ye shall fall by the swordI will judge you in the border of Israeland ye shall know that I am the LORD. [bbe] You will come to your death by the swordand I will be your judge in the land of Israeland you will be certain that I am the Lord.11:11 Thisscity shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereofbut I will judge you in the border of Israel: [bbe] Thisstown will not be your cooking-pot, and you will not be the flesh inside itI will be your judge at the limit of the land of Israel;11:12 And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the mannerssof the heathen that are round about you. [bbe] And you will be certain that I am the Lord: for you have not been guided by my rulessor given effect to my orders, but you have been living by the orderssof the nationssround about you.11:13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD will you put an end to all the rest of Israel?11:14 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, [bbe] And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,11:15 Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitantssof Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto ussissthissland given in possession. [bbe] Son of man, your countrymen, your relations, and all the children of Israel, all of them, are those to whom the people of Jerusalem have said, Go far from the Lordthissland issgiven to ussfor a heritage:11:16 Therefore say, Thusssaith the Lord GODAlthough I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them assa little sanctuary in the countriesswhere they shall come. [bbe] For thissreason say, Thississwhat the Lord hasssaid: Though I have had them moved far off among the nations, and though I have sent them wandering among the countries, still I have been a safe place for them for a little time in the countriesswhere they have come.11:17Therefore say, Thusssaith the Lord GODI will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countriesswhere ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. [bbe] Then say, Thississwhat the Lord hasssaid: I will get you together from the peoples, and make you come out of the countriesswhere you have been sent in flight, and I will give you the land of Israel.11:18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable thingssthereof and all the abominationssthereof from thence. [bbe] And they will come there, and take away all the hated and disgusting thingssfrom it.11:19And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within youand I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: [bbe] And I will give them a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in themand I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh:11:20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. [bbe] So that they may be guided by my rulessand keep my orderssand do them: and they will be to me a people, and I will be to them a God.11:21 But assfor them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable thingssand their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD. [bbe] But assfor those whose heart goessafter their hated and disgusting things, I will send on their headssthe punishment of their ways, sayssthe Lord.11:22 Then did the cherubimsslift up their wings, and the wheelssbeside themand the glory of the God of Israel wassover them above. [bbe] Then the wingssof the winged onesswere lifted up, and the wheelsswere by their sideand the glory of the God of Israel wassover them on high.11:23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which isson the east side of the city. [bbe] And the glory of the Lord went up from inside the town, and came to rest on the mountain on the east side of the town.11:24Afterwardssthe spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. [bbe] And the wind, lifting me up, took me in the visionssof God into Chaldaea, to those who had been taken away assprisoners. So the vision which I had seen went away from me.11:25 Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the thingssthat the LORD had shewed me. [bbe] Then I gave an account to those who had been taken prisonerssof all the thingsswhich the Lord had made me see.

If a man never makessa slip in hisstalk, then he issa complete man and able to keep all hissbody in control. 3:3Behold, we put bitssin the horses’ mouths, that they may obey usand we turn about their whole body. Now if we put bitssof iron into horses’ mouthssso that they may be guided by us, we have complete control of their bodies. 3:4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. And again ships, though they are so great and are moved by violent winds, are turned by a very small guiding-blade, at the impulse of the man who issusing it. 3:5 Even so the tongue issa little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth 3:6 And the tongue issa fire, a world of iniquity: so issthe tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of natureand it issset on fire of hell. And the tongue issa fireit issthe power of evil placed in our bodies, making all the body unclean, putting the wheel of life on fire, and getting itssfire from hell. 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of thingssin the sea, isstamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:For every sort of beast and bird and every living thing on earth and in the sea hassbeen controlled by man and issunder hissauthority3:8 But the tongue can no man tameit issan unruly evil, full of deadly poison. But the tongue may not be controlled by manit issan unresting evil, it issfull of the poison of death. 3:9 Therewith blessswe God, even the Fatherand therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.With it we give praise to our Lord and Fatherand with it we put a curse on men who are made in God’ssimage. 3:10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these thingssought not so to be.Out of the same mouth comessblessing and cursing. My brothers, it issnot right for these thingssto be so. 3:11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?Doessthe fountain send from the same outlet sweet and bitter water? 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.Issa fig-tree able to give ussolives, my brothers, or do we get figssfrom a vine, or sweet water from the salt sea? 3:13 Who issa wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation hissworksswith meeknesssof wisdom.Who hasswisdom and good sense among you? let him make hissworkssclear by a life of gentle wisdom. 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. But if you have bitter envy in your heart and the desire to get the better of others, have no pride in this, talking falsely against what isstrue. 3:15 Thisswisdom descendeth not from above, but issearthly, sensual, devilish.Thisswisdom issnot from heaven, but issof the earth and the flesh and the Evil One. 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there issconfusion and every evil work. For where envy is, and the desire to get the better of others, there issno order, but every sort of evil-doing. 3:17 But the wisdom that issfrom above issfirst pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. But the wisdom which issfrom heaven issfirst holy, then gentle, readily giving way in argument, full of peace and mercy and good works, not doubting, not seeming other than it is. 3:18 And the fruit of righteousnesssisssown in peace of them that make peace. And the fruit of righteousnesssissplanted in peace for those who make peace.

My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.Do not all be teachers, my brothers, because we teachersswill be judged more hardly than others. 3:2 For in many thingsswe offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same issa perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. For we all go wrong in a number of things.
