The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season Sunday losing to the Indianapolis Colts 20-17.

Coach Andy Reid said he did not have the team prepared well enough.

The Chiefs had a bad start muffing a punt return, setting up the Colts’ first score. The Chiefs took a 14-10 lead at halftime. Patrick Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce for a touchdown and Clyde Edwards-Helaire scored a rushing touchdown. In the second half, the Chiefs managed only a 26-yard field goal. They also missed a 34-yard field goal.

The Colts put together an 18-play 71-yard drive that took up over 8 minutes to take the lead with 24 seconds to play.

Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes said they did not play well enough offensively.

The Chiefs fall to 2-1 and will play at Tampa Bay next Sunday night.

They will talk about both games on Chiefs Kingdom Monday at 6 pm on Country 101.7 FM.
